When in Rome...

2 Things I Will Do When I Am In A Band:

1. End every show with a cover of "(I've Had) The Time of My Life"
2. Have the opening band be a cover band of my band.

And this is one of my favorite jokes from Arrested Development:

(it is late and i am exhausted but can't sleep in case you were wondering what this is all about)

Rando Confesh (New Years Eve Love)

I don't know, you guys. I get totally geeked-out excited for New Year's Eve. It's one of my fav holidays after 4th of July, Valentine's Day, Memorial Day and maybe Thanksgiving. Here's why: I love making goals. I love reflecting on the past year of my life. I love a fresh start. I love the traditions that I've started. I love the ball drop. I love Martinelli's. I love all of the stupid New Years Eve shows.

This week (the week btwn Christmas and New Year's) is my favorite. I usually don't have roommates and I get to plan/reflect. Oh, and clean. I love cleaning when I'm alone. LOVE it. And cooking. but only when I'm alone.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm a really weird person. I have a lot of quirks and around New Years I feel like everyone sort of plays along with one of my quirks. Even the people who aren't apt to set goals.

Happy New Years and stuff and things.

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL(s)!!!!!!!!! (alpha)

I love getting older. I realize this is not a normal thought, but at least Ellen and I see eye to eye on this one (independently of each other, I might add. Besties.) I can't help but just be so excited to potentially have another year of life where I can become a better person. It takes time, you know. Also, I think it has something to do with the fact that I've always felt more comfortable around older people and now my friends are getting older too. You know what I'm sayin'? Anyways, I'm super excited about the next 5 years of my life and I've made some goals that I would like to achieve AND I'm going to Blahg about them when I cross them off. Here goes:

1. Take an improv class
2. Learn how to Juggle
3. Make Thai Pineapple Curry
4. Visit Arch's
5. Host (at least one episode) of a "Talk Show" that I put on Youtube. (Anyone want to be my guest? ha ha)
6. Ride up the ski lift at Sundance in the fall.
7. Make something I've seen on Pinterest.
8. Play a song on the drums
9. Graduate College with at least a Bachelor. MBA? who knows.
10. Record one of my songs
11. Learn how to Speed Read
12. Visit the Grand Canyon (Parks & Rec anyone? Yeah, I wrote this after that episode)
13. Perform at Open Mic
14. See a play at the Tuacahn
15. Learn how to swim (yeah, I never learned)
16. Sing Karaoke @ Applebees
17. Go to the Zoo!
18. Feed the ducks!
19. Ride a horse
20. Run a 5K (not walk, run!)
21. Snowboarding!
22. Gallery Stroll in Provo
23. Temple
24. Hike Timp!
25. Cross-stitch a funny pillow
26. Sit & Be @ Gardner Village
27. Zipline
28. Day of Service
29. Graduation present for my nephews/nieces. (I'll explain this more later)
30. Visit Golden Spike (why have I never been there?)

Fin.

Zucchinis and Sandwiches...not together...that would be gross...maybe.

Did you know that Zucchini had an "h" in it? hmmm....the things you learn...I don't know why I'm typing so many ellipses (...) I guess I'm "pause-y" today? I'm sorry, I was just thinking about cats again. Anyway, let's get to it!

Today I went to Sensuous Sandwiches (aka Best Sandwich pretty much EVER) and I was so happy. I was just sitting there eating my sandwich, listening to a little girl tell her mom she was going to eat some chips or something she had dropped on the floor and just looking around being happy. I love that place. SO much. It's not just the sandwiches either (they'll be part of the refreshments at my wedding. That thought is solidified every time I go), it's something about how the place looks like a hole in the wall/dumpy place. There are all of these random cartoon posters/thoughts/jokes/pictures/ceiling tiles that are drawn all over.

As I stood to leave, my eye caught sight of a poster that I didn't know was there and I read the first line and was going to leave...but I couldn't. It sucked me in and so I read this entire poster that was pretty long. It was called "Life's Little Instructions" (volume II). It just made me so happy. My favorite was something along the lines of "Don't plant zucchini unless you have a lot of friends" or something. It was so happy and warm and fun. And that is why i love Sensuous. I always leave knowing a little more than when I got there.

Ode to Full Beds (I Know What Love Is)

(of course that was a Celine Dion reference) So I don't know if this is a common experience, but I LOVE having a full sized bed. I almost couldn't fall asleep because I got so excited about it last night. I was trying to fall asleep and I reached over and felt a book in my bed. I had the thought "This is so awesome! There is a book in here and I didn't even know it! SO MUCH ROOM!!! I'm leaving it in here". I should clarify: I didn't just barely get a full sized bed. I've had one since the Bran-bizzle and the start of this blog. Thank goodness when I moved into the hapt I got to continue the full bed-ness due to the fact that my mom had a spare. So..this is not new, but I still LOVE. I loved it so much that I started writing this post on the spot in my head. The only thing I remember is that I was going to talk about one of the worst nights of sleep I had. It was a queen bed that I shared with my sister and my nephew (who was like 4 at the time) during one of the death/funeral/trauma times. My nephew kicked me in the head all night. Anyway, I hope you have the best night eva and your bed appreesh grows. Goodnight ;)

that doesn't surprise me

This is one of my favorite things that people say about me. To me it's like they're saying "yeah, you're freaking weird and what you just said/did fits perfectly with your personality/swagger and my perception of you". I think it's because I like consistency and when someone "proofs" me and concludes "that doesn't surprise me" it suggests that I am a consistent person.

Also, I said surprise so many times because I wanted to solidify the spelling in my mind, but this shouldn't surprise you.
